We wish we would have known about hospice sooner is one of the most frequent comments we hear from community members touched by the care their loved one received through San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care. By educating the public about the programs and services we offer, it is our hope that some day everyone who can benefit from our services will know about their options and have the ability to ask for our help, sooner rather than later.
Each year, San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care participates in more than 300 outreach events. Activities include speaking engagements, tours of the Inpatient Care Center and grounds, and information booths at health fairs and other community events. Community outreach representatives include staff as well as Speakers Bureau volunteers. As part of our mission in providing community outreach and awareness through education, San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care offers community education programs on various topics surrounding end-of-life care issues.
For information on scheduled educational seminars, please check the Calendar of Events. Members of our Speakers Bureau also visit local organizations and businesses at no charge throughout the year to inform interested audiences about how the programs at San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care improve lives.
Speakers Bureau topics include:
- Hospice & Palliative Care 101 : What Everyone Should Know
- Advance Directives : Take Control of Your Future
- The Children's Program : Making a Difference in Young Lives
